A group of high-school students in Madison, Wis., are working with parents, teachers and engineers to build 250 sit skis -- chair-like devices that enable people with disabilities to ski using upper-body strength -- to be donated to athletic facilities and ski resorts nationwide. The design for the chairs was developed by the University of Wisconsin's Center for Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology and the volunteer students are members of their district's high-school robotics team.
