The secret to affecting major personal change is limiting efforts to one problem at a time, Peter Bregman writes. Focusing on a single problem is not only easier, he writes, but it also tends to be more effective than a sweeping overhaul. When people want to change their lives, they often go overboard, focus on too many areas, become frustrated and give up, he notes. "If you're going to work on a weakness, never choose more than one," he writes.
