Since 2006, more than 1,000 teachers from 20 states have taken part in parabolic zero-gravity flights designed to simulate the gravitational pull on the moon or Mars. Sponsored by the Northrop Grumman, the Weightless Flights of Discovery program is just one of many programs being increasingly offered by U.S. companies and government agencies to provide teachers with hands-on experiences in science and help them inspire their students to choose careers in science- or math-related fields.
