Drug discount cards can lower the out-of-pocket expense for patients and make manufacturers look good, but pharmacy staffs have to do the work to process the cards and receive little for their effort, writes pharmacist Eric Durbin in Drug Topics. "The copay cards and coupons are nice and all," Durbin says, "but why not just decrease the price per bottle of medication?"
