William Schmidt, founder of CareerExcuse.com, decided to fill a void in the career-counseling business by offering a service that confirms false information on job-seekers' resumes. Customers can subscribe with CareerExcuse.com and falsify information on their resumes, and the company will verify the information to employers. This type of business isn't illegal, but it is unethical, said Dean Taylor of the Central, Coastal and Southwest Texas Better Business Bureau. "When someone tells you they are going to help you lie about yourself, that should be a red flag right away," Taylor said.
