Congress has introduced a bill that would modify the Transportation Security Administration's authority to issue security directives. H.R. 3678 would require the TSA to submit security directives to an oversight board for review, and would also require directives or regulations lasting more than 180 days to go through a formal rulemaking process. The bill would affect a security directive requiring general aviation pilots at commercial-service airports to receive a security badge.
