Electronic readers such as Amazon's Kindle and Sony's Reader, those newfangled devices that are threatening to move good, old-fashioned print books to the recycling bin, will face a crucial test this holiday season to determine the mass-market viability of the product, according to this report. But for some, such as Steve Haber, president of Sony's digital reading division, it's already a foregone conclusion: "To me, it's just inevitable. I heard the same thing from LPs and CDs. The mass market, they want convenience and experience."
