The International Energy Agency discounted a newspaper report Tuesday in which an unnamed whistle-blower said the agency underestimated world oil reserves to avoid panicked buying. "We're the ones that are out there warning that the oil and gas is running out in the most authoritative manner," said Richard Jones, deputy executive of the energy watchdog agency. "But we don't see it happening as quickly as some of the peak-oil theorists."
