India Trade Minister Anand Sharma said the country is not considering further liberalising its foreign direct investment rules for the retail sector. "We have no intent to review FDI in retail sector except what is permitted in single-brand retail," Sharma said. Single-brand retailers are allowed to participate in foreign direct investment in India, but multibrand retailers, such as Carrefour, are not.
