Two Kansas high-school juniors are constructing metal tree-like towers that absorb, change and store carbon dioxide as part of a research project on climate change. The towers are designed to reduce carbon footprints and help slow global warming. The pair, who are students at the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science at Fort Hays State University, hope to develop a smaller, more affordable prototype that could be used by consumers.
