Low-emission technologies could transform the fuel and transportation markets within five years with government leadership, according to a report from Accenture. "Our policymakers need to understand the technologies enough to make the necessary trade-off decisions quickly and to address issues such as genetic modification and intellectual property rights head-on," said Melissa Stark, the report's author. Of particular interest are algae-based biofuels, electrification and next-generation internal combustion engines.
