Investing in a REIT fund is a "medium-risk" option for putting a little more money in your pocket, according to MoneyMagazine. Because REITs aren't taxed if they pay out 90% of their income in dividends, their dividends generally are higher than those of most dividend funds, Alexis Jeffries and Donna Rosato write. Morningstar analyst Andy Gogerty said the T. Rowe Price Real Estate fund, for example, is now yielding 4.76%.
