The common and contagious respiratory syncytial virus is not getting the attention it deserves given the focus on the H1N1 flu, according to pediatric researchers at Children's Hospital Boston. Their report, published in Pediatrics, said children 7 and younger with RSV had twice as many emergency department visits and six times as many hospitalizations for acute respiratory illness as those with seasonal flu in two recent winters in the city.
