Despite mixed results and fading popularity, U.S. President Barack Obama's economic stimulus is working, said research firm Oxford Analytica. GDP data show the economy is recovering, although the "abysmal job market" saw unemployment reach 10.2% in October. "Despite its flaws, the stimulus package has helped underpin recovery and prevent even more savage job losses than those that have occurred," Oxford Analytica said. "However, this observation ... is unlikely to be politically salient for Obama if unemployment remains high ahead of the November 2010 midterm elections."
