Canadian National Railway Co. is seeing steady monthly traffic increases of between 3% and 4%, perhaps signaling a broader rail-freight recovery, says Hunter Harrison, the company's CEO. "I think it's a confidence issue," he said, adding that a lasting recovery would come only if railroad companies invested in the future and found new efficiencies through mergers and track-access deals.
