Republic Airways announced Tuesday that some 800 jobs will shift to Milwaukee as the company restructures Midwest Airlines and Frontier Airlines, its latest acquisitions. Indianapolis and Denver also were competing for the hub jobs, which include flight crews, maintenance and call center personnel. Republic CEO Bryan Bedford said the move "marks the rebuilding of our business" in Milwaukee, where Midwest has seen its market share slip to 35.5%, down from a peak of roughly 50%.
