A California teacher uses the micro-blogging Web site Twitter to help continue teaching while attending conferences and workshops throughout the school year. In this blog post, Heather Wolpert-Gawron writes that she has a substitute to supervise student behavior and a student who is designated as Twitter captain to send and receive messages for the class. Using this method, Wolpert-Gawron was available to students who had questions about the material and showed them that she is willing to try new things to improve teaching and learning.
