U.S. railroads logged a 0.3% increase in ton-miles in the week ended Dec. 19 to 30.4 billion, according to the Association of American Railroads. Carloads dipped 0.1% year-over-year to 271,819 units. Meanwhile, Canadian railroads saw carloads rise 6.5%, while Mexican railroads saw a 24.8% jump in freight volume.
