Some Canadian teachers are incorporating active learning into the curriculum in an effort to make classroom lessons more "boy-friendly." The approach gets students moving and lets them do more group work and focus on broad issues. In one exercise, called "Think, Pair, Share," students stand while they think about a math problem for 30 seconds, collaborate in small groups for one minute and then discuss their thoughts with the class.
