Some 3,400 ground workers represented by the International Association of Machinists have split on a new contract with Alaska Airlines. About 600 ramp service and stores agents agreed to 1.5% pay raises for the next two years, along with a new performance-based incentive plan. But the contract extension was rejected by 2,800 clerical, office and passenger-service employees, forcing new negotiations early next year.
