"The strengths of both institutions will be brought together in this new center to help move discoveries from research into clinical practice," said David Baltimore, a professor at Caltech and the center's to-be director. The center is set to start a Translational Acceleration Grants program that will offer funding to researchers whose initiatives have the potential to be translated into clinical applications.
