The CDC said one in six Americans, about 50 million people, had H1N1 flu between April and mid-November and 10,000 died from it. That compares with earlier estimates of 22 million cases of the flu with 4,000 deaths by mid-October, which CDC officials said reflects a surge in cases this fall, as the second wave of the epidemic peaked in October.
