The FAA will convene a panel to review the agency's telecommunications system following an outage last month that delayed more than 800 flights. "We have an extremely reliable system, but we need to have the confidence that problems can be solved quickly and efficiently so our air traffic controllers and aircraft operators have the tools they need and travelers aren't inconvenienced," said FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt in announcing the formation of the review committee.
