Rep. Kendrick Meek, D-Fla., has introduced a bill that would abolish a program aimed at reducing Medicare costs by subjecting durable medical devices, prosthetics and other supplies to competitive bidding. Tyler Wilson, president of the American Association for Homecare, said the trade group is pleased with the bill and added that the competitive-bidding initiative would affect patients' access to quality health care.
