NAB President-CEO Gordon Smith, who previously served two terms in the U.S. Senate, urged radio broadcasters to take the time to educate and engage in dialogue with lawmakers on key issues, notably a proposed performance fee for stations. "Never assume that a new Congress understands what you do," Smith said at a Radio Ink event. "It has to be told over and over again. That, I hope you understand, is the value of the NAB."
