The ongoing economic downturn will continue to hurt nonresidential building markets next year, according to a forecast by McGraw Hill Construction. Non-residential building starts will decline an additional 2% in 2010 after falling 30% this year, according to the forecast. Meanwhile, industry observers expect the Construction Cost Index will increase 2.3% next year. The Building Cost Index is expected to rise 1.3%.
