The Fraunhofer USA Center for Molecular Biotechnology, a nonprofit research group in Delaware, has received $9.85 million in funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop a vaccine aimed at inhibiting the transmission of malaria. "The technology has the potential to provide the capacity and cost effectiveness required to deal with the health and economic problems caused by malaria in developing countries," according to Fraunhofer.
