Desserts flavored with herbs, green tea or bacon are getting popular as pastry chefs skillfully combine the sweet and savory elements. One of the most interesting examples is from James Hassell, who created a cheesecake with blue cheese in a mushroom-studded crust, drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar and accompanied by cheese-crusted, truffle-scented steak tartare.
