The confirmation of Ben Bernanke for another term as chairman of the Federal Reserve is widely anticipated to get a favorable vote in the Senate banking committee, but the matter will not come before the full Senate until next year. Bernanke's term expires Jan. 31. Only one Democrat on the committee, Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, has publicly stated his intention to vote against Bernanke's confirmation.
