A study has found improved social, communication and language skills among California students with autism who used a software program featuring computer and classroom activities. The study looked at the use of TeachTown Basics with preschool, kindergarten and first-grade students at four Los Angeles schools, and it found that the program helped students make gains in social skills, auditory processing, language and academics as well as anecdotal improvements in attention span and focus compared with students who did not use the program.
