A study of more than half a million middle-age and older Americans found people in poor neighborhoods may die sooner than those living in wealthier areas, regardless of diet, lifestyle or other individual factors. The NIH-AARP Diet and Health Study found residents of the most deprived neighborhoods had a 22% higher risk of dying than those living in the least deprived areas.
