Talks between American Airlines and its flight attendants union will continue in February after the two sides failed to reach an agreement in federally mediated negotiations this month. The Association of Professional Flight Attendants, which represents 16,550 workers at American, had said it could begin balloting for a strike as early as today. But AFPA President Laura Glading said Thursday the union was "re-evaluating its options" with further talks pending. Having reached agreement on all but 11 contract items, American said it remains "committed to the process, and we are ready to move ahead with any proposal that makes good economic and operational sense."
