Students who are gifted from schools in a Maryland county are participating in a project to create historical documentaries about American wars and military conflicts. The students, who are in grades 3 through 5, conducted research and interviewed a veteran for the project -- editing their videotaped interviews with Windows Movie Maker software. The project gave students an opportunity to deepen their understanding. "Students experience depth of content and experiences beyond what is normally introduced at this level," one teacher said.
