Educators in Houston will receive more than $40 million in bonuses as a reward for student achievement on state tests. Under the plan -- which teachers have said is unfair because it is based on test scores -- teachers earned an average of $3,606 in bonus pay, and principals, on average, were rewarded with about twice as much. Higher-level administrators earned an average of $16,157 in bonuses.
