As corporate credit markets continue to strengthen, they could trigger renewed interest in corporate synthetic collateralised debt obligations, according to a report from Standard & Poor's. "Given the composite nature of synthetic CDOs and their recent performance history, it is our view that it will likely take a mixture of corporate stability, investor confidence, and ratings transparency for this sector of the market to regain some of its former volume," according to the report.
