If you decide to let subordinates interview a potential new boss, set up parameters about what questions they can ask and consider not allowing "marginal" performers to participate, Jim Giuliano recommends. If an applicant seems hostile to the subordinate interview, it could indicate the person "could be the type of boss who doesn't consult with subordinates for their ideas."
