Students in grades K-12 who are educated through the Missouri Virtual Instruction Program will have to pay for their courses or have their tuition paid by school districts after declining state revenues prompted Gov. Jay Nixon to discontinue state funding for the program beginning this semester. Some parents of MoVIP students with special needs say it is difficult for their children to attend traditional schools and that they will look to other online options if their districts cannot help subsidize tuition.
