President Barack Obama's executive order that eased restrictions on embryonic stem cell research last year should be turned into law in order to prevent future lawmakers from reversing it, said Bernard Siegel, the Genetics Policy Institute's executive director. "Foes of this research are eventually going to lose. ... But in the meantime people are dying right now. They're still suffering," Siegel said at a stem cell summit in Missouri.
