Ari Ne'eman, a 22-year-old New Jersey man who has Asperger's syndrome, has been nominated to sit on the National Council on Disability and -- if approved by the Senate -- will become the youngest member of the council in at least two decades and the first member with autism. Some autism advocates have criticized the appointment of Ne'eman -- who has been outspoken and critical of some advocacy groups -- because he has Asperger's syndrome rather than a more severe form of autism.
