Ben Bernanke's term as chairman of the Federal Reserve ends Jan. 31, so Senate Democrats are attempting to hold a vote on his confirmation before then. Several senators have placed a hold on the vote, but most analysts expect the confirmation to be approved. "I think he'll probably be voted in 3-to-1 or at least 2-to-1. If you've got 40 votes against him, that would be more of a message," said Doug Elliott of the Brookings Institution.
