When trying to decide whether someone is telling the truth, watch their facial expressions, Marty Nemko writes. For example, a tense-looking forehead and eyes may mean the person isn't being forthright, even if he or she is smiling. Also, "real emotions often build and fade slowly," he writes. "Phony ones often get turned on and off quickly."
