Measures to bolster lending at the Small Business Administration are beginning to filter down to end-user companies. Such initiatives include raising the SBA guarantee on small-business loans to 90% from 75% and a wavier on borrower fees for certain types of loans. Marianne Markowitz, regional administrator of the Small Business Administration, predicted that more banks will get comfortable with small-business lending this year as a result.
