A recent study of college students found that use of social media Web sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, had no affect on students' grades. That conflicts with earlier research that showed grades declined with increased use. The new survey, by University of New Hampshire students, showed that 63% of frequent users earned A's and B's, and 65% of light users earned those grades. "The study indicates that social media is being integrated with, rather than interfering with, students' academic lives," said a professor whose class conducted the study.
