British researchers who studied 186 patients diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome for at least four years said they didn't find a link between the condition and a new kind of retrovirus called XMRV. The study, which also didn't find any virus related to XMRV, contradicts the results of a U.S. study published in October associating the virus with the condition. The British findings appear to indicate that, at least in the U.K., the virus is not linked to the disease, the researchers said.
