BASF expressed its commitment to continue investing in its facilities in Louisiana and Texas. The recession has lowered the sites' output and idled some workers, but re-emerging chemical demand bodes well for both plants. "We hope to bring more investment to North America and Geismar [in Louisiana] ... But there is a lot of competition internally for where the investment goes: BASF is a big company," said Tim Yura, site manager at the facility.
