Recent study data showed cardiovascular nurses had lower rates of smoking, higher exercise levels, healthier eating practices, and lower rates of hypertension and dyslipidemia compared with a national sample population. However, the survey also showed some nurses had risk factors for cardiac disease, including high rates of obesity, high rates of stress and a family history of premature coronary artery disease.
