Westinghouse and DCD Dorbyl were expected to sign an agreement that will allow the South African company to make components for Westinghouse's AP1000 pressurized water reactor. Under the terms of the deal, DCD Dorbyl would be a key supplier for the six AP1000 reactors that Westinghouse has been contracted to build in the U.S., said executive Robert Pearce. Westinghouse is also hoping to secure "between six and eight contracts in Europe" for AP1000 reactors, Pearce added.
