Dow Corning posted a fourth-quarter profit of $270.5 million, up 57% from a year earlier, as "significant recovery" in the company's core silicone business took hold. "While it's still a volatile economic environment, the year ended with many positive signs," said Dow Corning Chief Financial Officer Donald Sheets, and the company plans to work on U.S. and China expansions this year.
