Usability issues are partly to blame for the slow pace of consumer adoption of personal health records, according to Marjorie Martin, general manager of Everyday Health. Because the task of record-keeping is "a fairly laborious experience," Martin said many users rely on their physicians to do this for them. Revolution Health, a unit of Everyday Health, has cited "low utilization" as the reason for its recent decision to discontinue its PHR offering on its Web site by next week.
