Spokane, Wash.-based Red Lion Hotels reported fourth-quarter losses of $8.7 million, or 48 cents per share, compared with a loss of $3.9 million, or 22 cents a share, a year earlier. The chain reported a one-time impairment charge of $8.7 million related largely to its 2008 acquisition of the Red Lion Denver Southeast hotel. Without the charge, the company would have reported a $3 million loss, or 16 cents a share.
